Syllabus and Format Options
Ideally, the GCSC simulation is conducted on two contiguous full-days, preceded by a three-hour preliminary session. Often, to accommodate the schedules of students who also hold full-time jobs, the course is held on Friday evening and all day Saturday and Sunday.
Class format can also conform to many existing academic calendars. A common schedule for returning students is one class weekly, each about three hours in length.
Two alternative formats are suggested below. Breaking classes into segments of less than three hours in length (e.g., 50 minute classes, three times per week) has not been tested and is not recommended.
Regardless of format, a sheet with the predetermined schedule should be distributed to all students for reference throughout the simulation.
